Preparation Before the Trip
Create your SplitPay group and add all participants before you leave. Share the URL in your group chat so everyone can access it during the trip.
Currency Selection
For international trips, select the local currency when creating the group. If you'll have mixed-currency payments, decide on an exchange rate upfront or stick to one currency.
Clear Payment Descriptions
Record what each payment was for - accommodation, meals, transport, entry fees. This makes it easy to review expenses later.
Separate Shared and Personal Expenses
Distinguish between expenses shared by everyone and personal purchases. Use the 'for whom' feature to select only the people who should split each expense.
Settle Up Quickly
Review and settle expenses soon after returning home. Memories fade fast, and delayed settlements can cause confusion. Show everyone the SplitPay settlement screen for transparency.
