Outdoor trips almost always start with one person fronting a big cost — the meat and veggies on a single card run, the tent and stove rental on someone else, gas on whoever drove, the site fee on yet another person. On top of that, not everyone splits the same way: someone joins late, someone does not drink, someone stays sober to drive. SplitPay handles all of it. Create an event, share a link, and pick exactly who each payment applies to — beer only for the drinkers, gas only for the riders, the site fee for everyone. Enter it all on the drive home and get who owes whom in the fewest transfers.

Log the bulk buys someone fronted

On most trips, one person grabs the meat, veggies, charcoal, and seasonings in a single store run and gets paid back later. With SplitPay you just add that payment, set who fronted it, and pick who it covers. Several people can shop at different stores, and every fronted cost lands in one tidy list so you settle once at the end. There is no need to split receipt by receipt or do mental math at the campsite.

Handle who drank and who drove, per payment

Splitting everything evenly is unfair to the person who did not drink or stayed sober to drive. SplitPay lets you choose the members for each payment, so beer goes only to the drinkers, gas goes only to the people in the car, and the site fee covers the whole group. You can even leave a bit extra toward the driver by assigning the gas to the riders. Each line is split its own way.

Latecomers and meet-you-there folks split fine

Outdoor plans are messy — someone shows up for the evening only, someone meets you at the site and skips the morning grocery run. Because SplitPay splits per payment, you simply drop that person from the costs before they joined while keeping them on the rest. Change the headcount whenever you like; just adjust who is included on a given payment and it recalculates instantly.

An honest tradeoff: the link is the key, history is local

Because SplitPay skips accounts, the event URL itself is the key. Anyone with the link can view and edit, so share it only with your group. Your event history is also stored in this browser on this device. If you switch phones or clear your browsing data, the event drops off your list. For trips that matter, bookmark or save the URL so you can always get back to it.

How it works in 4 steps

  1. 1

    Create an event

Make an event like BBQ or Summer Camp and add the people coming along. No account, no app install, no email needed.

  2. 2

    Share the link

Send the generated URL to your group in any chat. Anyone who opens the link can view and edit the details.

  3. 3

Add payments and who they cover

Log the bulk grocery buys, rental gear, gas, and site fees. For each one, set who fronted it and pick the members it should be split among.

  4. 4

    Settle with fewest transfers

Wrap up after the trip and SplitPay calculates who pays whom in the fewest transfers. Multi-currency is supported too.

Frequently asked questions

Can I split differently for non-drinkers or the driver
Yes. You pick the members for each payment, so drinks go only to the people who drank and gas only to those in the car. Nothing has to be split evenly across the whole group.
Can I collect a flat fee up front instead
You can. The in-page quick calculator turns a total and a headcount into a per-person amount. Choose exact, round up to 10, or round up to 100, and any surplus is pooled to the payer.
What if someone joins partway through the trip
No problem. Since SplitPay splits per payment, you just leave that person off the costs from before they arrived and keep them on the rest — adjustable line by line.
Do I need to sign up or install anything
No. There is no email and no sign-up. Create an event in your browser and share the URL — it is completely free.
